At Peace monastery we feel that growing most of ones own food is an integral part of a spiritual and healthy lifestyle. As such, we grow a garden, keep bees, maintain an orchard, and make use of a simple greenhouse to extend the growing season.

How can one properly enjoy the fruits of the earth if all they ever taste of them is what was picked green and shipped for a week or two in a refrigerated boxcar. Ugh, makes us shudder just to think of it.
