| "A number of reporters have asked me, have said something along these lines: 'It looks as if you're moving in the direction of mainstream America.' My response is simply this: We're not doing things essentially different than we have ever done. Maybe mainstream America, as it is looking for higher values, is moving a little closer to us." | Not doing things different? What about polygamy? The Law of Consecration? United Order? Giving Aaronic Priesthood to kids? Why discard the politically in-correct portions of the endowment? Where are the visions? The new revelations? When can we expect new scriptures? Why is the "Mormon Tabernacle Choir" called the "Tabernacle Choir" on the churches web site? When was the last time an LDS prophet said, "Thus Saith the Lord?" When will it happen next time? |
| "We have two great problems facing us as the church grows so rapidly. One is the development of leaders; | You are allowing men and women who are un-developed to led the church? |
| two is the construction of buildings to accommodate our people, and we're working very vigorously at each, building about 350 new buildings a year and we've got to build more to accommodate the growth. | What ever happened to holding meetings in a grove of trees? Or at someone's house? Does the Holy Spirit work better in a multi-million dollar building? |
