I live in two worlds.
By day, I control the information systems of a fortune 500 company, quietly and invisibly assuring that the systems are always functional, and that problems are taken care of before they ever happen. Management justifies a low salary for me because the system always works flawlessly, and I never complain. Why should I? I'm respected, work good hours, and have sufficient for my needs.
By night, I return to my 19th century Mormon roots, shucking off the clothing, the mannerisms, and the lifestyle that have come to symbolize the 20th century. I work barefoot in my garden. I do senseless acts of anonymous random kindness to friends and strangers. I pray with my family, and read the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
