THE BROTHER OF JARED
The brother of Jared stood in the presence of Jesus Christ many years before Christ took on a body of flesh among the children of God. During this manifestation he learned that Christ's spirit body appeared like that of a man.

CHAPTER 1
AND now, I, Moroni proceed to write the great and marvelous things which the Lord made manifest unto the brother of Jared.
2 I write these things according to the commandments of the Lord; in which he has commanded me, saying.
3 A commandment I give unto thee: thou shalt write the things which I have shown unto the brother of Jared when he presented himself to me upon the mount.
4 Thou shalt include these things with the record of my people who are the children of Lehi, a remnant of the house of Israel.
5 Behold, I have prepared these two stones as interpreters, insomuch as I have caused the language of the brother of Jared to be confounded. This I have done to hide these from the world.
6 For behold there are none, save a few only, who have faith enough to behold the things which I have caused to be written.
7 For behold, I have shown the brother of Jared all the inhabitants of the earth which have been, and also those that will be; and I could not withhold from his sight, even unto the ends of the earth.
8 For I have covenanted unto man from the beginning that if they exercise faith in me, and keep my commandments in all things, believing that I can show unto them the mysteries of godliness, behold I will come unto them by the power of the Holy Ghost and He shall teach them whatsoever their heart desires.
9 Nevertheless, thou shalt seal up the words of the brother of Jared until I shall manifest myself in the flesh unto my people.

CHAPTER 2
AND now, I Moroni, have herein manifested that Jesus Christ did come unto His people.
2 Not only did he come among the Jews who were left at Jerusalem, behold He did truly manifest Himself unto my fathers who were separated from the Jews at Jerusalem through the mercy and purposes of the Lord.
3 Therefore, I write the words of the brother of Jared according to the commandments of the Lord.
4 Howbeit, these things have been sealed up and will not be given to the world with the first part of the record which I have made upon the plates of ore.
5 The Lord has made known to me that these things will be withheld from the children of men until the day that they shall exercise faith in God, even as the brother of Jared did, that they also may become sanctified by overcoming the temptations and sins of the world; then will the Lord make manifest unto them the things which the brother of Jared saw, even all the revelations of Jesus Christ, the son of God, the Father of the heavens and of the earth and all things which have been given to the children of man from the foundations of the world.
6 And when the people of the Lord shall begin to exercise this faith, then shall the Lord reveal these things unto them.
7 And when these things shall be revealed unto them, there will be few only who understand them.
8 Many will mock them and contend against the word of the Lord.
9 Thus saith the Lord: He that shall deny these things, let him be accursed; for unto them I will show no greater things.
10 Nevertheless, to those to which these things come, shall be laid under strict command to only reveal unto men the portions of the words which the Lord shall allow.
11 To them who receive the words of the brother of Jared and accept them, and harden not their hearts, to them will be given the greater portion of the word until they know the mysteries of God in full.
12 Therefore, I Moroni, plead with my brethren who are of the house of Israel, and also the Gentiles:
13 Come unto the Lord, Jesus Christ, and He will show unto you the greater things which have been hid from the world because of unbelief.
14 Behold, when ye shall rend that veil of unbelief, which causes the Spirit of the Lord to withdraw from you, then shall the great and marvelous things which have been hid from your eyes since the foundation of the world be made manifest unto you.
15 Oh, my brethren, how long will the Lord allow the earth to lie under such bondage of sin? How long will He be merciful unto you in your wickedness?
16 My soul is harrowed up in sorrow because of the things which the brother of Jared has written concerning you.
17 It is because of your wickedness that He has withheld these things from you, and now these things shall condemn you at the last day.
18 Ye shall read of your corruptions and deceptions. You shall weep and wail and gnash your teeth as you behold the wickedness of your ways and the corruptness of your soul.
19 Oh, my brethren, I would that the Lord would allow this bitter cup to pass from me, that I might not drink thereof and sorrow.
20 Nevertheless, the Lord has commanded me and I must obey. The words of the brother of Jared are great and marvelous, if ye mock them, ye mock God.
21 For they are the words of Christ given to all those who call upon His name with a broken heart and a contrite spirit.
22 I will now proceed with the account of the brother of Jared, which translation was given to me by means of the Urim and Thummim, which being interpreted is Light and Perfection.

CHAPTER 3
AND it came to pass the brother of Jared was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 For behold, after he saw the spirit body of Jesus, the brother of Jared marveled greatly that his mortal eyes could perceive such things.
3 The Lord understood the thoughts of the brother of Jared and said:
4 Marvel not that this thing has come to pass, for behold, thou cannot see spiritual things with mortal eyes.
5 I have caused a change to come over thee so that thou mightest behold my word and my glory.
6 Therefore, his eyes of understanding were opened and the brother of Jared saw as it were many worlds and kingdoms without end.
7 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared exclaimed, his entire soul being filled with the spirit of God:
8 Oh, great God, Lord of all, what are all these worlds which appear to men as the stars in the night sky?
9 The Lord answered him, saying: These are the kingdoms of my Father and His Fathers.
10 For behold, the world upon which thou standest is a creation of my Father, who is the Father of my spirit and thy spirit.
11 Nevertheless, my Father has created many such worlds and the number of his kingdoms are infinite.
12 The brother of Jared was taken, as it were, to one of the worlds he beheld.
13 And it came to pass that the world which he beheld was like unto the world in which we live, yea, there were many strange and marvelous buildings which he had never before seen.
14 Being thus overcome by the strangeness of these things, the brother of Jared asked the Lord the meaning of these things.
15 And He answered him: Behold, this is the kingdom and glory of my father.
16 It was on this world that my Father begot his children and learned the mysteries and responsibilities of Godhood.
17 It is here where the Mothers of all the spirits of this world reside.
18 And he looked and beheld many people in the attitude of talking and reasoning one with another.
19 He beheld their dress, that it was of a most exquisite whiteness which far exceeded any white he had seen. There were plants and vegetation which grew in the likeness of those on this earth, however, they grew spontaneously, as if they were commanded to grow without the aid and toil of man.
20 And it came to pass that he beheld the people partake of the fruit of the trees and vines freely, taking only that which they desired to make them happy.
21 For behold, the people were never hungered or athirst, nor did they lust one towards another.
22 They partook of the plentiful food in order to make themselves joyous and fulfill their desire for happiness.
23 The brother of Jared continued his description saying:
24 And I beheld that the moment one of the fruits were plucked from a vine or tree, another would immediately grow in the stead thereof, insomuch that the trees and vines were always full.
25 And my soul desired to partake of this fruit that I might also be filled and never hunger.
26 And it came to pass that I beheld a man among the people who appeared unto me as a man who was of such familiarity to me that it caused me to be drawn immediately to his presence, as a small boy is drawn to his father.
27 And it came to pass that as I drew near unto him, my heart and soul was filled with an unspeakable love and warmth.
28 His radiance filled my soul, even so much that it caused me to shrink from His presence.
29 My tongue was bound so that I could not speak. And it came to pass that I did fall to the ground for my limbs could not support me.
30 I became as it were a small infant who knew not how to move his limbs, to use his tongue.
31 And it came to pass that this man took me by the hand and commanded me to rise.
32 Immediately I received my strength again and stood in front of this being.
33 And He said unto me: My son, whence comest thou and for what purpose does thou desirest to speak to thy Father?
34 And it came to pass that I could not speak, but I attempted to cry to Jesus that He would assist me in speaking to the Father.
35 And it came to pass that Jesus did appear at my side and said:
36 My Father, this thy son has come to thee to receive the further light which thou hast promised to all thy children who worship thee and keep thy commandments.
37 I could not restrain his coming forth for he has manifested the faith which the eternal laws require before Thy creation can behold Thee and come into Thy presence.
38 He is of the world which thou hast placed in my power and he is my disciple.
39 And it came to pass that the Father said unto Jesus: Well done my son.
40 There are few men on thy world which have prepared themselves for this moment, therefore, he shall know me and thee and we will share with him that which is reserved for those of our Order, nevertheless, thou shalt command him to keep these things from the rest of my children in thy kingdom until they, too, repent and work righteousness.
41 Instruct him to remember the things he has seen and will see, that he may write them and seal them up to come forth when thou doth command.
42 And it came to pass that Jesus answered the Father saying: Thy will be done as it always has been done my Father, and the glory be Thine and not mine.

CHAPTER 4
AND it came to pass that as we went forth among the people of this kingdom, I beheld their beauty and the peace of their souls.
2 And there were many women; nevertheless, there was no lasciviousness or promiscuous thoughts among them.
3 These beings seem to know all as they are known and see others as they are seen.
4 And as I wandered forth with the Father and Son, many of these women greeted the Father with a kind bow, hand clasp, and a tender kiss.
5 I marveled at the tenderness that the Father had for each one, and it came to pass that I asked the Father, saying:
6 O Lord, my Father, who are these women whom encompass thee with such love and tenderness?
7 And it came to pass that the Father stretched forth His hand and brought one of the women and placed her before me.
8 And behold, I beheld her beauty and fairness which surpassed any woman I had ever known, and it came to pass that her radiance caused my limbs to once more give way that they could not support my body.
9 And it came to pass that my Lord, even Jesus Christ, did support me that I did not fall.
10 And the woman spoke unto me saying: Behold, my son, I am the Mother of thy spirit.
11 I am she which provided the materials necessary so that thy Father, and my Lord, could create thy spirit.
12 And it came to pass that the woman turned to the Father and said:
13 My Lord, my heart and soul is filled with joy because of this our son who has proven himself worthy to know us and become one with us.
14 Behold, my soul sorroweth for the majority of our children which do inhabit the mortal bodies which reside on the world which thou hast placed in the authority of his elder brother, even my son, Jesus Christ.
15 I pray, my Lord, that thou bless this our son that he may continue in righteousness and one day join our Holy Order which has existed from the beginning to bring about the eternal life and happiness of man.
16 And it came to pass that the Father answered her saying:
17 My dearly beloved, I too share your sorrow and anguish because of the wickedness of our creations which belong in the kingdom of my Son.
18 Behold this, our son, shall assist us in bringing many of them to repentance that they may also work righteousness and prepare themselves for their inheritance in the eternal worlds.
19 And it came to pass that this woman did embrace me, her son, and my heart was filled with exceeding great joy.
20 And the woman blessed me, saying: Go my son and do the things which God hath commanded thee to do.
21 And blessed art thou for that which thou art about to write unto the children of men.
22 For behold it shall shine unto them out of darkness and shall come to the knowledge of the people according to the power of God.
23 And now, my son, I would that you should remember to build your foundation upon the rock of your Redeemer, who is Jesus Christ, a Son of God who has been appointed to rule and reign over you.
24 And if thou shalt do these things and obey Him in all things whatsoever He shall command thee, behold, thou shalt receive eternal life.
25 And now, my son, I bid thee farewell, that thou mightest go and do the things which thou hast been commanded.
26 And it came to pass that the woman left the brother of Jared.
27 Nevertheless, Her radiance did not leave him for some time after, for he felt as though he was a part of Her and She a part of him.

CHAPTER 5
AND it came to pass that the Father and Son continued on their journey with the brother of Jared. And they showed unto him many worlds and many kingdoms.
2 And the eyes of his understanding were open and he beheld that the worlds, which he was now beholding, appeared as the stars in the sky from the earth from whence he came.
3 And it came to pass that Jesus spoke unto him saying: My son (and the brother of Jared was truly the son of Jesus was the God of his world).
4 And Jesus said: Thou hast beheld that which no man has beheld before.
5 There have been many righteous men who have lived on the earth who desired to see the things which thou hast beheld, but because of the wickedness of the men who lived among them, I could not show unto them such great and marvelous things.
6 For behold, their hope and faith was sufficient enough for them and they waited upon God to reveal to them His mysteries in His own due time.
7 Nevertheless, I have led thee and thy brothers and thy friends from among the wicked, that I might raise up a righteous branch unto the Father.
8 And it was because of thy faith, and the faith of thy brother, that I have done these things.
9 And because I have led you from among the wicked, I am permitted to show unto you the things which thou beholdest.
10 And thou shalt behold many more things which shall be shown unto you so that thou canst teach thy brethren the mysteries of Godliness.
11 And behold, if thy brethren turn from me and keep not my commandments, after they have been taught my ways by thee, I will withdraw myself from before them and they shall be left unto themselves.
12 And it shall come to pass that if they do not repent and remain in their wickedness, they shall be in Satan's power, for he desireth to have them.
13 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared cried unto the Lord that he might be faithful in keeping the commandments of God and that his brethren would remain faithful and not be overcome by Satan and destroyed.
14 And the Lord spake unto him saying: Blessed art thou, my son, because of thy faith and the love for thy fellowmen.
15 But behold, there are eternal laws which have existed forever which bounds cannot be passed.
16 And inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper and be led to a land which I have chosen and prepared for those who love me and keep my commandments.
17 And inasmuch as thy brethren shall rebel against me, they shall be cut off from my presence, and if it so be that they shall not repent, they shall be destroyed
18 Nevertheless, I shall preserve thy words and thy teachings that they may come forth at the time appointed for the children of men to receive them.

CHAPTER 6
NOW, my son, let us leave the Father and go into the world from which we came, and behold, I shall show unto thee its beginnings and its ends.
2 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared looked upon the Father and Son, and he beheld that they were one, or in other words, he beheld that the Son was created in the exact likeness of the Father.
3 And he (the brother of Jared) communicated with the Father as one man communicates with another, for behold when the Father spoke, His words were carried to the ears of the brother of Jared and he understood His words.
4 Nevertheless, he did not communicate with the Son in like manner, for when the Son spoke to him, he heard nothing with his mortal ears, but his spirit received his Lord's thoughts, and in this manner did the brother of Jared communicate with Jesus Christ.
5 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared beheld that the materials which made up the body of the Father were different than those of the body of the Son.
6 And the brother of Jared remembered the words of the Lord which he spoke upon the mount:
7 Behold, this body which ye now behold is the body of my spirit, and man have I created after the body of my spirit; and even as I appear unto thee to be in the spirit, will I appear unto my people in the flesh.
8 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared understood that Jesus had not yet passed through the days of His probation, but was still a spirit.
9 And it came to pass that the Lord beheld the thoughts of the brother of Jared and spoke to him saying:
10 Why dost thou marvel that the Father's body differs from the Son's? Doth thou not recall that I told thee that the world on which the Father now dwellest is the same world on which he resided as a mortal.
11 The Father has overcome all things and His Spirit is now inseparable with an exalted body which allows Him to continue His work and glory.
12 For this reason, when the Father speakest to thee, thou doth hear his words with thy mortal ears.
13 I have not yet passed through mortality and therefore, it is thy spirit which discerns the things which I speak unto thee.
14 And it was this mystery which we were about to show unto thee.
15 And it came to pass that Jesus and the brother of Jared followed their Father to a great expanse of space in which no light was to be found.
16 And it came to pass that the Father began to take of the elements that resided in this darkness and organize them into a world which was round like unto the earth, nevertheless, this world was a thousand times larger.
17 And it came to pass that after the Father had organized this world, he spoke some commands which could not be understood by the brother of Jared.
18 And it came to pass that after He had spoken these words, the new world which He had created immediately began to glow and issue forth light from among the darkness of the expanse.
19 It appeared unto the brother of Jared as if the Father had created this world only to destroy it by fire.
20 And it came to pass that the fire did not consume the world, but appeared in the sky as the sun which is beheld by man on this earth.
21 And the brother of Jared wrote, saying:
22 And I beheld this new sun which the Father had created and I asked the Lord how it was that God could do such things, and why didn't I understand the commands and words which He gave to make this great light.
23 And Jesus answered me saying: The Father has been taught the commands necessary to command all life and matter.
24 You could not understand His words because thou art not yet prepared to receive such things and be given such power.
25 Now, my son, continue to observe the creation of their new kingdom which the Father is bringing forth to show unto thee in what manner the kingdom to which thou belongest was formed and created.
26 And it came to pass that I beheld the great light and warmth which came forth from this sun.
27 And the Father took other materials from which he created other worlds which traveled on a straight coursed around the great light which he had previously created.
28 And I beheld the operation of nine worlds which appeared to be made of elements which were like unto the body of Jesus.
29 To some of the worlds were given other worlds which traveled in a course around the world to which they belonged.
30 And I inquired of the Lord, asking Him:
31 My Lord, why is it that God has created these worlds from the same material of spirit from which thy body is taken?
32 The Lord answered me, saying: All creation must be created in a preparatory state in order that they might be proven therein to see if they will obey the commands of God.
33 Therefore, all are created first spiritually that they may experience that which they will do as mortal elements.
34 And it came to pass that I understood the words of the Lord in that if these worlds could not function in their proper course, they would not be transformed to a mortal state, for they would not fulfill the measure of their creation as their creator had commanded.
35 And if these creations kept their first estate, they would be added upon; and if they do not keep their spirit state they shall not be permitted to have the same glory as the mortal estate; and if these keep their mortal estate, they shall have glory added upon their heads forever, just as the Father has glory.
36 Thus it was made known unto me that as mortality was a probationary period to prove the worthiness necessary to proceed in the glory of God, the spirit realm is a period of probation to prove the worthiness necessary to proceed to mortality.
37 In this way God keeps all things in order and proves his creations.

CHAPTER 7
AND it came to pass that the worlds which the Father had created were void, with no plants, animals, or mountains.
2 And it came to pass that the Father was joined from time to time by some of the women who resided on the world which we previously had visited.
3 And the Gather treated each woman with compassion and love, and both received great joy as they enjoined one with another.
4 And it came to pass that these women gave birth to myriads of children whose bodies were as the sons and daughters of man, nevertheless, these bodies were made of the spiritual matter which same matter formed the body of Jesus.
5 Now these women were Goddesses - exalted women whose bodies created the spirits of mankind.
6 And I beheld that these spirits grew and were taught by the Father and their Mothers in the spirit world which the Father had previously created.
7 And it came to pass that I marveled that there were no plants or animals in this spirit world where the spirit bodies dwell.
8 I also beheld that once the spirits were born, they could not leave the world on which they were born.
9 And the Mothers of those spirit appeared to suffer no pain or sorrow in the pains of delivering these beings.
10 Nevertheless, the bodies of these were created and brought forth in the same manner as mortal women.
11 And the Lord said unto me: Marvel not that this eternal process brings joy instead of pain to these women.
12 Behold, these women find their joy and happiness in providing these bodies for the spirits of all mankind.
13 There are none greater than the women who fulfill the measure of their creation by honoring their husband and teaching and rearing their offspring in the ways of God.
14 The Father blessed these women by removing the curse which was brought upon all women in mortality insomuch that instead of pain, their bodies are filled with unspeakable joy and happiness during the birth of a spirit child.
15 And the Lord did exceedingly praise the righteousness of these women.

CHAPTER 8
AND it came to pass that I looked again, and beheld multitudes of people residing in this spiritual kingdom.
2 And I beheld that all had grown to the stature of a full grown man or woman.
3 And it came to pass that the Father appeared before them and counseled with them saying: My beloved children, I am thy Father and I have caused these worlds to be created for you that ye might one day experience the joy and happiness which I, your eternal Father, experience.
4 My beloved children, I have made it possible that ye should rule and reign in this kingdom forever.
5 You have been given a head and intellect which is the agency to act for yourselves.
6 With this agency, I give unto you the promise and blessing, that inasmuch as ye use your agency to follow my commandments in all things, ye shall be blessed with all the blessings which I enjoy as your Father and ye shall one day be able to associate with me and assist my in my work and my glory.
7 And this is my work and my glory; to bring the great blessings of immortality to you, that if ye chose, ye shall be able to do the things which ye see me do, and behold the things which I now behold.
8 I have given unto you your ears and herein bless them that they may forever more hear my words.
9 Your eyes have I given you and I bless you that they may see clearly and distinguish between truth and error.
10 Your nose I have given you that you may smell and taste the joys which shall proceed you.
11 I bless your lips and mouth that they may speak truth and righteousness forever.
12 May your neck bear up properly your head.
13 I bless your shoulders which you have received, that they may bear the burdens that shall be placed thereon.
14 I bless the strength of thy bones that there may be marrow therein, and thy spine that it may support thy back.
15 I bless your breast that it may receive pure and righteous principles.
16 May your vital organs and bowels be healthy and strong that they may perform their proper functions.
17 I bless your hands and arms that they may be strong in good works.
18 And your legs and feet that they may carry you forth on your journey until ye receive all the blessings which I can give you.
19 I have blessed you with the loins necessary that when the appointed time comes, ye may be fruitful and that your posterity will bring you glory and honor.
20 My beloved children, I seal my blessings upon you and admonish you to remember the blessing with which I have given thee.

CHAPTER 9
AND it came to pass that after the Father had blessed His children, He called forth His firstborn son and presented Him to the rest of His children.
2 And it came to pass that the Father spoke saying: This is my beloved Son whom I have chosen to oversee the work in this kingdom.
3 I have watched this, my Son, grow and learn the things which I have commanded Him.
4 I must go on to create other kingdoms as I have promised and been commissioned to do.
5 Ye shall listen to my Son, whom I have anointed to be your God and Savior.
6 I have given Him my power and glory to rule and reign in this kingdom forever.
7 He shall be your Father as I am your Father, nevertheless He is my Son, also, and we are one.
8 When I am gone to the mortal world to begin my work there, ye shall do all things whatsoever this my Son shall command you.
9 He shall remain the head of the Order of government in this spirit realm.
10 When the appointed time arrives for Him to take a body, another shall be appointed in His stead in the Order of the government of the spirit world.
11 My son shall be known in mortality as Christ, the Anointed One, and His earthly mother shall call him Jesus, the Son of God.
12 The Son because He resides in the flesh, but the Father because of the position of His Spirit.
13 And when He is upon the earth, the one appointed in the spirit kingdom in His stead shall be known as the Holy Ghost, or the Spirit of God.
14 He shall not take upon Him flesh and bones until the last of my spirit children has entered into mortality and the last has been resurrected.
15 For behold it shall come to pass that each of you shall take upon you a mortal body in the which ye shall be tried and tested and given the opportunity to become even as I am.
16 And it shall come to pass that when ye enter into mortality ye shall have a veil of forgetfulness placed between your mortal existence and the realm in which ye now reside.
17 Ye shall forget all and proceed in mortality without any knowledge of me or your former life.
18 Mortality will become a probationary period in which ye will be able to choose between good and evil. Ye shall be free to do with your bodies as it seemeth you good.
19 In this state I will not leave you without guidance, therefore, the spirits from the world in which ye dwell shall be able to communicate with your spirit which will dwell within your mortal body. They will guide you in that which ye should do.
20 The Order of government in the spirit world, which is the Holy Order of my Son, shall observe the choices ye make and the things ye do.
21 They will attempt to persuade each of you to follow the commandments and teaching which ye have learned in this spirit kingdom.
22 Nevertheless, they will have no power given them to force you to abide by their counsel.
23 This Order of government which is known as the Priesthood of God, shall be headed by Christ until His appointed time.
24 Then shall the Holy Ghost assume His role as the head of the governing body in this kingdom.
25 And they are one, as I am one with them, and so shall all men be one with us if they give heed to our counsel and direction.

CHAPTER 10
AND it came to pass that the brother of Jared marveled greatly at the things which he had seen and heard, even so much that tears watered his face as he praised God and Jesus for the glorious blessings which God has in store for his children.
2 And the brother of Jared wrote many praises to God and the Son.
3 Now I, Moroni, do not attempt to write all the praises of the brother of Jared, but he did praise God and worship Him with all his heart.
4 And I, Moroni, was also astonished at the great mystery which was shown to the brother of Jared, even so much that it caused me to refrain from writing the remainder of the words of the brother of Jared which were on the twenty-four plates.
5 And many day passed as I thought upon the things which I had read.
6 Behold, the prophet Ether was also astonished by the things which had been written.
7 For behold they truly showed man the workings of the Spirit of God or the Holy Ghost, and how He communicates with the children of men.
8 For behold, the spirit world consists of those spirits who have not yet entered mortality and the spirits of those who have died and gone home to the God who gave them life.
9 And even as Alma taught his sons that there was a state of being which preceded the resurrection of the soul, this state is the spirit world where all mankind must return and remain in happiness or misery, depending upon their works and the desires of their hearts as mortals.
10 And those same spirits communicate with the spirits of men and give their counsel and direction during the course of their mortal lives.

CHAPTER 11
AND it came to pass that the brother of Jared asked the Lord saying: My Lord, who is Lucifer the devil, who has been made known unto us as he who deceiveth the world and corrupts the hearts of men?
2 And the Lord answered him saying: My son, let us return again to the meeting of the Father and His children in this new world which He has created.
3 And it came to pass that they were immediately present among the many spirits which they had before witnessed in this world.
4 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared beheld countless spirits in the attitude of praising and worshiping the Father for the great blessings He had given them.
5 Among the many spirits, there were many who refrained from the praises and sons of joy which the other spirits gave to the Father and His Son, who was chosen from among them to be their King and Lord after their Father had returned to His own kingdom.
6 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared wrote saying: And I beheld that these rebellious spirits were being led by one of the more noble and great spirits who were present in this spirit realm.
7 And my mind was enlightened that I understood the desires and thoughts of this leader even so much that the intents of his heart were made known to my mind.
8 And behold, this same spirit was he who deceiveth the spirits of man and taketh upon himself the glory which the Father had given His Son whom He had chosen to lead the affairs of this part of the Father's kingdom.
9 And it came to pass that the Lord showed unto me the reason for which these spirits has rebelled against the eternal plan of the Father.
10 For it had transpired that all the spirit children of the Father were taught the plan of salvation which is the means whereby the Father would give His children eternal life, if it so be that they chose to keep His commandments and follow the laws which have been irrevocably decreed in the Heavens by the which all things are, were, and will be governed.
11 And it was made known unto these spirits that there would be many of them which would desire that which is contrary to these eternal laws.
12 Nevertheless, the Lord, their Father, would prepare kingdoms for all His children according to their desires of happiness and their separate abilities to abide by His laws.
13 For this purpose He created the other worlds of this kingdom which also belong to the kingdom put under the authority of the Son.
14 Behold, the Father loved his children and would that all might be happy and obtain eternal life.
15 However, those who did not abide by the laws of their spiritual state of existence would bee unable to progress to the mortal state, which state would teach them joy and misery, good and evil, and try and test them to see if they will do all things whatsoever their Lord would command them.
16 And those who keep not their second estate of mortality, would, not share in the same glory as those who lived by faith and kept the commandments of God while mortal.
17 And these same spirits would receive a glory and a world in the kingdom of God, however, their glory and world would not allow them to become as their Father and share the same degree of happiness as their Father enjoys forever.
18 And it came to pass that it was shown unto me the government and glories of the kingdom of God.
19 And the kingdom consists of nine worlds which represent three grand kingdoms of glory
20 In each kingdom of glory there are three separate degrees and each one of these degrees pertain to a world which belongs to the kingdom of God, whose center is the world which burns but is not consumed.
21 And it came to pass that I beheld these kingdoms and the governments of each.
22 And each kingdom of glory is governed by a greater kingdom of glory, and the greatest is governed by the Father and his Anointed One, even Christ.
23 And it came to pass that I beheld the inhabitants of each kingdom of glory and I beheld their attitudes of worship and their thoughts and feelings.
24 And the lowest degree of glory consisted of those who did not keep their second estate, or in other words, they did not obey the law of the gospel which was taught to them during their mortal state.
25 These were they who were most selfish of all the children of men; the liars, adulterers, murderers, and despisers of God and His laws.
26 And I marveled that these wicked men were saved in the kingdom of God despite all their wickedness while mortal.
27 And the Lord beheld my thoughts and said: My son, marvel not; for all the children of men who denied me and kept not my commandments while mortal, shall have another opportunity to do so after they are dead.
28 And if it so be that they repent and covenant to keep my commandments, they shall be heirs of the kingdom of God, however, they shall remain with an awful guilt which will cause their bosoms to be filled with pain and sorrow, knowing they deserved and desired only the lowest kingdom of God.
